Financial Calculators

Free tools for loans, mortgages, savings, retirement and taxes — pick a calculator and get your number in seconds

Every money question, one shelf of calculators

Money decisions rarely involve one number. A home purchase is a payment, a total interest figure and a comparison against renting; a savings plan is a deposit, a rate and the effect of compounding. The calculators in this category each answer one of those questions cleanly, and they share the same design: enter what you know, get the number you need, with the formula shown so you can check it.

Loans and credit

  • Mortgage & Refinance — monthly payments, amortisation schedules and refinance break-even points.
  • Loan / EMI — any instalment loan: monthly payment, total interest, total cost.
  • Car Loan — auto financing plus depreciation, so you can see the true cost of ownership.
  • Credit Card Payoff — how long a balance takes to clear and what the interest really costs.

Savings and growth

Compound Interest projects growth with monthly deposits; Simple Interest handles the flat, non-compounding kind used by many car loans and bonds; Savings Goal works backwards from a target; Retirement checks whether your nest egg is on track; ROI measures what an investment actually returned, annualised.

Taxes and prices

The Freelancer Tax Estimator covers quarterly set-asides in seven countries, Sales Tax adds or reverses retail tax on any price, and Inflation translates yesterday's prices into today's money. For pay-side questions — hourly to salary and back, raises, overtime — the Work & Salary category picks up where these leave off.

Every calculator runs entirely in your browser: nothing you type is sent anywhere, and each page documents its formulas and sources under the tool.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are these financial calculators free to use?

Yes — every calculator on this site is free, requires no sign-up and runs entirely in your browser. There is no limit on how many times you use them.

Which calculator should I use for a loan?

Use Loan / EMI for any generic instalment loan, the Mortgage Calculator for home loans, Car Loan for vehicle financing with depreciation, and Credit Card Payoff for revolving card balances. All four show monthly payment and total interest; each adds the detail its loan type needs.

Do the results include taxes and fees?

Most loan calculators show principal and interest only — taxes, insurance and fees are quoted separately by lenders. Use the Sales Tax Calculator for retail tax questions, and each tool's guide explains exactly what its numbers include.
